The wet, puffy flakes are falling so fast, I almost can't see. Almost.
As I look to my right, I spy them. They're playing on a hill, snowballs being lobbed back and forth. There are so many giggles I can't tell whose are whose, and the thought makes my heart swell.
I know when we're done, we'll go inside and sip hot chocolate with fat marshmallows together. We'll warm ourselves by the fire in a heap of bodies, blankets, and love. But I steep myself in this moment, taking snapshots of them that will last a lifetime in my head.
