Three drabbles today. :)

Prompt: beer
It never fails to remind me of her in even the most subtle ways. I watch the beer foam and rise to the top of the glass, smiling.
It is unassuming, like her, but complex and layered. You can appreciate it for what it is on the surface, or you can really taste and evaluate. There are small flavors blended to get the bigger picture, hidden things you might never see, even after years, but they're there and influencing in the background.
Drink enough and you get buzzed, almost high, on the effervescent quality. Somehow, there is never too much.
-
Prompt: margarita
The gold liquid sinks into the blender pitcher, a swirl of hazy contamination, much like she hopes her brain will soon be.
She wants to forget it all, everything, in this moment. It won't last forever, the pain she feels, but it has pierced her deeply enough that she wants it gone, even for just a second. She wants to smile and laugh genuinely, albeit alcohol-induced.
The blender whirs, crushing the ice, and her breathing quickens at the prospect of her first drink. The cold will numb her throat. The alcohol will numb her mind. Nothing can numb her heart.
-
prompt: Baileys & coffee
I sit at the round table smiling at my best friends. We've gathered for lunch and shopping, and it's hands down my favorite part of the entire year.
This reconnection with them is essential to my soul, and we have a few traditions. We always eat at the same little Italian place, we always order Baileys and coffee to drink, and we always order way too much food and share.
As we catch up and talk about births, deaths, divorces, and marriages, I make eye contact with each of them, willing them to understand the importance of our time together.
